Does OMT hurt?
What are the risks of OMT?
In general, OMT is very safe. The most common beneficial side effects of OMT are increased range of motion, decreased pain, and improved ability to perform activities of daily living. The most common negative side effects are soreness, minor swelling, and bruising. In rare circumstances, patients have developed hematomas and radicular pain. These more serious symptoms are typically due to patients having existing conditions that predispose them to such. Please ask the doctor questions or let them know if you have any concerns.
